My name is Wictor Bernhard (1990) and I am based in Stockholm, Sweden.

I hold a MFA in ceramics and glass, from Konstfack in Stockholm. Some of my earlier exhibitions include both solo and group shows at venues such as Millesgården, Hantverkets Vänner, The Glass Factory, Sven-Harry's konstmuseum, Den Fantastiska Platsen etc.

I work broadly across sculpture, installation, video, photography, interior design as well as with craft and my practice is driven by material and technical exploration, often using recycled and found materials to challenge conventional notions of value, materiality, and function. Materials are everywhere, and I see them. I capitalize on their ready availability.

What I do often involves a skeptical look at the bizarre state of the world and visually, my work sometimes look as if it was materialized from a cartoon or digitally rendered in a naive and kind of simplified way. Playful in form but layered with conceptual depth. I like to question concepts like ”real” and ”fake” and try to bend peoples conceptions of materiality by surprising or confusing them.

I’m heavily influenced by all materiality, strange societal conditions and generally accepted illusions (eg. loneliness, money etc.), urban subcultures (read: everyone with a outsider mentality) and most forms of media (eg. SoMe, ads etc.). My personal expression has a satirical tone and I often look at the extreme to understand the conventional. I naturally respond creatively to what humanity pushes away.
